Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan, Collin always had a desire to be outside. Throughout his youth, family would gather in Boyne City, off of Lake Charlevoix. These summer months were spent enjoying the beauty and nature of Northern Michigan and the Great Lakes.
Located in Southeast Michigan was Collin's out of home sitter, Alpine Valley Ski Area. Snow days were more often than not spent here while growing up. This is where Collin's love of all things winter started. Collin began ski racing for Walled Lake Northern Highschool in 2006 and was a Varsity skier for three of his four years on the team.
After graduation from Walled Lake Northern High School in 2010 Collin attended Oakland Community College to obtain general education credits while working for Boyne Resorts. During this time, Collin was also pursuing an interest in Down Hill Skateboarding, trying to capture a snow like feeling, throughout the summer months.
In August of 2012 Collin transferred to Northern Michigan University in Marquette Michigan to pursue in Recreation Management with a minor concentration in Marketing. While attending school Collin worked for Down Wind Sports and was very active in the local outdoor community.
Collin graduated in May of 2015 and immediately headed West to Teton Valley, Id to work for Habitat, owned by Grand Targhee Resort and fulfill internship requirements. After the required internship hours were met Collin was offered a full time position with Habitat. While living in Driggs, Collin also obtained a second, part time job with Teton Gravity Research located on the Jackson Hole side of the Tetons. In the summer of 2016 Collin obtained his Level 1 Professional Mountain Bike Instructor certificate and became the lead mountain bike guide at Grand Targhee Resort.
Since then, Collin has welcomed a daughter into the world, pursued a career in Marketing, lived in a van while travelling the country, and spent everyday chasing dreams.
